These are awesome! I would only use biodegradable...can you think how many bags you use in a week, month, or the life of your pet? So much trash!

I would really love to try these, but a friend of mine has used them and told me they break a lot (EW!). Anyone else have any experience with using them, for good or for gross?

I was excited to see the kitty option. Disposing of litter without plastic bags is quite difficult!!

There are also biodegradable bags that come in a roll and fit in those cheaper bag dispenser thingies that can attach to dog leashes. There's some sort of standard size, so you can switch between the biodegradable brands offered.

I'm lazy I just scoop all the poop in my backyard every few weeks. I figure that saves enough plastic bags from going in the garbage.

I didn't catch the "controlled composting environment" part-sounds complicated. I don't know how well that would work in a garbage can I suspect its not quite as green as they claim. And who is gonna compost dog poop anyways?

Bio Bag also makes biodegradable poop bags that are made out of cornstarch. They don't break, and they're black (so the world doesn't know you're carrying a bag of feces when you're out on your walks!). They're also pretty inexpensive - I pay $5/box of 30 on Amazon, and they sell them at my local grocery store.

@parrotthead: it's not likely that anything meant to biodegrade in a composting environment will biodegrade in a landfill. a composting environment requires proper composting materials, and since trash in a landfill gets piled on and "airlocked," the ability for anything to biodegrade there is really restricted.

Ohhh I want that clip! I use biodegradable bags as well! No one should use any other kind!
Totally off subject: We should also never get plastic bags at grocery stores, only paper! It's so much better for the environment!

Bio bags are fab, but to complete the job, you need an in-ground doggy waste digester... the responsible, odor/insect-free way to deal with those doo-doos!

Actually, PoopBags.com sells BioBags, too. I haven't had either break while in use. I looked on the site and I think the whole "controlled composting" is just for the ultra technical folks. PoopBags.com actually advises people to throw it in the trash. At least they are made with corn, a renewable resource. I question the biodegradability of those on a roll. The package states, "Biodegradable in all states except California." What's that to mean?
