There were a lot of dapper men on the red carpet at last night's MTV Europe Music Awards. My favourite boys Take That performed and were interviewed at the spectacular show, and they all looked very handsome on the red carpet in their smart-casual black suits. Another of my adolescent crushes, Jared Leto, also played a big part in the show, hosting interviews in the VIP bar area wearing an
Obama tee which matched those of his 30 Seconds To Mars bandmates.

Get excited because this Thursday evening, the
2008 MTV Europe Music Awards are on! There's a reason why these shows get me so amped up and it's because year after year, stars and singers make history with risqué clothing and beauty choices, and off the wall performances. Even my girls
Fab UK and Bella UK are going to get in on the fun and create live
Love It or Hate It polls as everyone makes their way down the red carpet.

Take
Hulu and
YouTube, add some pretty colors, and you've got MTV's latest creation:
MTV Music. Not a revolutionary new music site, but what I do like about it is it's your one-stop shop for thousands of music videos from the past and from the future (Duran Duran, vintage Madonna, it's all there). Choose to watch on the site or embed on your own blog, and it even gives you a full screen option.

The TV network that started out showing music videos all the time — the "music" part of "Music TV" — is now putting them on the ol' the Internet at
MTVmusic.com. It's a pretty cool idea, actually, since a lot of people only watch music videos online anyway these days. Plus, the site has a bunch of "vintage videos" from the early MTV days, like the first music video they played,
"Video Killed the Radio Star."
I picked out a few of my own personal favorites from back in the day (like "Motownphilly"!) after the jump so to check them out and tell me about your faves, .

For the first time MTV's networks have decided to accept political advertising, and Barack Obama has taken them up on the offer,
buying ad time on Comedy Central, VH1, and Spike. While Obama
has many fans among musicians and celebrities featured on MTV's networks, he also has won over consumers of that culture. According to a recent
USA Today/MTV poll, Obama has a 2-1 lead among 18-29 year-olds.

MTV may be on a
"Green Crusade" but for one piece of Panama's rain forest, actions speak louder than words. After filming the latest Road Rules/Real World Challenge, MTV took trashy TV to a new level,
turning part of a rain forest into a garbage dump.
MTV's green offenses include: clearing a large section of rain forest for the set, trashing a pristine beach, disturbing an off-limits bird sanctuary island, and leaving behind large amounts of trash and debris.

MTV's TRL is about to
call it quits — at least for a while — after 10 years on the air. A decade! Just think of it: Ten years ago, the airwaves were filled with boy bands like
Backstreet Boys version 1.0, Britney Spears's "Baby One More Time" wasn't even on the radio yet, and I couldn't have picked original TRL host Carson Daly out of a lineup.
Even if you're not a
guinea pig expert, you know what those furry fellas look like, right? They are most definitely not supersized hamsters and, frankly, I don't even think baby guinea pigs resemble adult hamsters. However, Stephanie Pratt made this baffling comment on last night's episode of
The Hills.

After a three month hiatus,
The Hills girls are back, and along with them, my weekly food quiz! Last night's season premiere was filled with drama. Lauren hosted a barbecue and Heidi's sister annoyed Spencer, but the most climatic part was the showdown between Lo and Audrina.

The
2008 MTV Video Music Awards are coming our way once again, and as I skimmed the nominees for this year, I started to feel perplexed. Some of the nominees are totally appropriate, but others make me scratch my head, and I could think of other videos from this year that are far more deserving.
Maybe it's a sign of the times, but did you know that there used to be categories for awards like Best Post-Modern Video and Best Concept Video?
